Tara can appear in 21 different forms. In painting and sculptures, she is depicted in five different colors, like the Five Dhyani-Buddhas (Vairochana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, Ami tabha, and Amoghasiddhi.). The most common being Green Tara a Chinese princess in a Buddhist legend and White Tara a Nepalese princess.
