Published under the direction of Charles Peignot, Arts et Metiers Graphiques was famous for its new advertising vision and has become the reference of modern publicity. Peignot and his friends Jean Cocteau, Maximilain Vox, A. M. Cassandre, Jean Carlu and Paul Colin formed the Paris-based group of l'"Union des Artistes Modernes", a group "strongly against anything backward looking." This issue is profusely illustrated with numerous tipped color illustrations of various kinds (some fold out), and specimens on special papers or in special processes including labels and other decorative packaging elements. Most of them are amazing examples of art deco illustrations of the time, as used in advertising art.
