Producer Pizzini wines are located in Victoria's northeast King Valley wine region, among the cool rolling hills. Alfredo and Katrina Pizzini began making wine in the late 1970s and have been trailblazers for Italian varieties grown in Australia—they were among the first to plant Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. They are also known and celebrated for making great Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and other native Italian varieties like Dolcetto and Barbera. Tasting Note Sangiovese brings all the juicy red fruit, andShiraz brings dark blue fruit, spice, and tannin—the perfect blend. The Sangiovese and Shiraz were fermented and vinified separately and then blended together before bottling. The juice sees no oak to retain fresh acidity and its lively fruit profile. It is medium-bodied and ready to drink and enjoy now.
