Producer Current owner David Kilpatrick planted the vines on the Clarence House Estate in 1998, in the foothills of the Meehan Ranges halfway between Hobart and Coal River Valley. The fruit is harvested and then taken to Pooley, where the Pooley team takes care of the winemaking. Pinot Noir makes up the majority of the crop, but they have six other varieties planted, including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Tempranillo, Merlot, and Cabernet. Tasting Note "Stylish wine, a little bit nervy, but in a good way, coming in on that cusp of ripeness where there’s cherry and raspberry flavour but also a fine-boned sort of ‘minerally’ character to it. There’s some biscuit spice and violet perfume, firm pumice-stone tannin, and a bright red fruited (some darker cherry here too) finish of excellent length.
