Scrapbook of Isidore N. Deslauriers and family who lived on Besserer Street in Ottawa in 1891-92 at the approximate time of many of the photos in this album. M. Deslauriers appears on the Civil Service List and probably died at age 77 on March 21, 1913. This album was presented to Mrs. Deslauriers at an unknown date by the Ottawa Rifle Club. Cartes-des-visites and cabinet photos are presumably of relatives or friends, many of whom were photographed in studios on Sparks Street in Ottawa or in Montreal and Quebec. One of the more interesting photographers is Miss Lockwood of Rideau Street, Ottawa, whose photos are a feminine pink on the rear. A few come from farther afield like the Anthony photo of Governor Harris of Tennessee, who aligned the state with the Confederacy in 1862. A list of photographers is attached. Show more
