Each pendant in the 141 Series begins as a gesture. Two ladlefuls of molten glass are poured freehand over a curved steel rod, and the resulting form is entirely its own: fluid, slightly cinematic, opening outward in a way that no process could predict or replicate. Once the glass cools and sets, the rod is removed and replaced with an LED light source, so the object that emerged from controlled chance becomes the vessel for light. Omer Arbel founded Bocci in Vancouver in 2005, and has long treated the glassblower's furnace as a site of deliberate uncertainty. The 141 Series continues that practice with a quality that feels particularly sculptural. The overlapping poured forms read differently at every angle, catching and diffusing warm 2500K light through walls of irregular thickness. No two pendants are the same, and none could be.
