Architect Joseph Urban (1872 – 1933) was known for his theatrical design as well as his illustrations for children's books. Here he gives a brief history of theatre itself, followe d by a description of six new Art Deco-style theatres he designed: The Ziegfeld Theatre, Paramount Theatre, Metropolitan Opera House, Reinhardt Theatare, Jewish Art Theatre and The Music Centre.
