DragonForce Sticker Set Application Instructions Thank you for purchasing your DragonForce sticker set. To achieve the best possible finish, please read these instructions carefully before beginning installation. The application process is straightforward and should take approximately 30 minutes. Equipment Required Clean water Small amount of washing-up liquid Spray bottle or container for mixing solution Plastic card or squeegee (a credit card works well) Kitchen roll or paper towels Sharp craft knife or scissors (if trimming is required) Clean, dry workspace Before You Start For the best results, the boat should be clean, dry and at room temperature. If applying the stickers to a later-model DragonForce fitted with factory decals, you may either leave the original decals in place or remove them. For the smoothest finish, we recommend removing the original decals and cleaning away any remaining adhesive residue before application. Step 1 – Clean the Surface Thoroughly clean the deck and hull surfaces to remove any dirt, grease, salt deposits or polishing residues. The cleaner the surface, the better the final adhesion and appearance. Allow the boat to dry completely before proceeding. Step 2 – Prepare the Application Solution Mix a small amount of washing-up liquid with water. This solution allows the sticker to be repositioned during installation and helps prevent air bubbles. Lightly spray or apply the solution to the deck surface. Step 3 – Apply the Deck Sticker Carefully remove the deck sticker from its backing paper. Position the sticker onto the wetted deck surface. The jib deck-eye cut-out and jib sheeting cut-outs can be used as alignment references to help locate the sticker correctly. Take your time to ensure the sticker is correctly positioned before applying pressure. Step 4 – Remove Water and Air Once satisfied with the alignment, gently hold the sticker in place. Using a plastic card wrapped in kitchen roll, work from the centre of the sticker towards the outer edges, removing water and any trapped air. Apply firm but controlled pressure, taking particular care around narrow sections such as the battery hatch opening. Continue until the sticker lies flat and smooth across the entire surface. Step 5 – Battery Hatch Area The narrow section of sticker surrounding the battery hatch may be left in place or carefully trimmed away after installation if preferred. In some cases, repeated removal of the battery hatch cover can lift this section of the sticker. If this occurs, the area can be neatly trimmed using a sharp craft knife. Step 6 – Apply the Hull Stickers Repeat the same process for the hull topside stickers: Lightly wet the surface. Position the sticker accurately. Remove water and air bubbles working from the centre outwards. Check alignment before applying final pressure. Step 7 – Allow to Cure Once all stickers have been applied, leave the boat in a dry environment for at least 12 hours, preferably overnight. This allows any remaining moisture to evaporate and enables the adhesive to achieve maximum bond strength. Care and Maintenance Avoid prolonged water exposure for the first 24 hours after installation. Clean using fresh water and a soft cloth. Avoid aggressive solvents or abrasive cleaning products. Inspect edges periodically and press down if necessary.
