Vintage Robin Hood Cook Book with recipes by Mrs. Rorer. This book, which took over two years and $10,000 to make, promoted the "Robin Hood" flour brand, setting the company apart from rivals like Five Roses. American artist L. Moen was commissioned to do the Art Nouveau illustrations. Sarah Rorer was a well-known home economist, editor and cookbook author from Philadelphia. Her American bias is clear in the notable shortage of English and French-Canadian specialties, like baked goods made with dried fruit, butter tarts, maple sugar tarts, etc. Fortunately the two empty pages at rear allowed a Mrs. W. G. Allen of Kincardine, Ont. to write in her own custard filling, mustard chow-chow, lunch cake, oatmeal jams, genger bread, and Albert cookies.
