This tool can be used to lock an engine piston thereby facilitating the removal of crankshaft nuts. The tool has a domed plastic end to prevent damage to the surface of the piston, making it an invaluable tool when working on two stroke engines. That said, it must be used with caution because if undue force is applied to the crankshaft it may be possible to damage either the tool or the piston, crank, connecting rod and/or bearings. The use of high torque impact wrenches would not be advised and we sell this with the assumption that the user will have sufficient experience to understand what is a safe torque to use.
