The group set out from Edmonton, travelled by the Athabasca to Fort Dunvegan o n the Peace River, crossed the Rockies via the Pine and Misinchinka rivers to Fort McLeod, and then proceeded southeast to Quesnel via Fort St. James and the Stuart River.
