The 8-10 rule states that you will need one 8 ounce candle for every 10 square feet in a room. This means that for optimal scent distribution of our 16 ounce candles, you will need one for every 20 square feet. You also want to make sure your candles have room to breathe- placing them in tight areas, such as on a bookshelf, will severely hinder the scent throw (on top of being a fire hazard!).
