Prague Bass Violin 3/4 Size, Gamba-cornered, Round-back Model Made in Czechoslovakia c. 1920 Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce Back table is a two-pi ece plate of slightly figured maple Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table with maple outer moldings adjoining the top and back tables Scroll and neck are original of plain grained maple Traditional Prague Tyrolean wooden-knobbed tuning gears mounted on brass plates Varnish is deep brownish amber This bass has a deep, dark, strong projecting sound; even in all registers; excellent solo, orchestral or jazz instrument. Fully restored to excellent condition Overall body length: 43 1/8 in. Width at the upper bout: 19 3/4 in. Width at the center bout: 14 in. Width at the lower bout: 25 1/8 in.
