Printed on heavy paper. Excellent introduction by Gert Schiff gives context and biographical information on Rowlandson, and discusses aspects of the illustrations such as voyeurism, infidelity, treatment of royalty, military and clergy, and crude portrayals of both women and men. Fifty color plates make up the body of the book. Note that Rowlandson's illustrations are frankly sexual and would be considered obscene in almost any context today. Book is in excellent condition.
