based on the sheet music to the popular march, American Patrol, written in 1885 by Frank White (F.W.) Meacham. While you may not know it by name, you have surely heard American Patrol many times. The opening is instantly recognizable. Here's a link to a Glenn Miller recording of an arrangement by Jerry Gray.
