Princess Katharina Alexandra Dorothea von Lieven [1785-1857] lived in London with her husband, the Russian Ambassador, between 1812 and 1834. She was an influential person among Eu ropean diplomats and politicians. This biography is full of excerpts from her papers, diaries and letters.
