Boosey Hawkes Company Bass Violin 7/8 Size, Violin cornered, Round back Made in London, England c. 1901 Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce Back table is a two-piece plate of highly flamed maple with flames slightly descending the center joint Ribs of broad flamed maple Scroll and neck are original of moderately flamed maple Individual Baker style tuners mounted on brass plates Varnish is deep brownish amber with reddish hues This bass is a copy of a Vincenzo Panormo. Bass was previously owned by the late bass pedagogue Frederick Zimmermann. Excellent condition Overall body length: 45 1/2 in. Width at the upper bout: 21 1/2 in. Width at the center bout: 15 5/8 in.
