Knight [1757- ] lived abroad with her mother after her Rear-Admiral's father's death, where they met many English celebrities, and hang out with Nelson and Lady Hamilton in Naples. In 1805 she was appointed to Princess Charlotte's court, then transferred to Princess Charlotte in 1813. Knight's riveting personal account of her experiences with these important people form the most valuable parts of the autobiography for history, but there are many more interesting events she describes.
