The art surrounding the paper is from Lith. C. Fasoli & Ohlman a, Strasbg (Strasbourg). The name of the person making the commitment has been written on it, the date, and the name of the ecclesiastical member. This is a bit of a special piece since it's from Alsace-Lorraine. Alsace was French until 1871 when it was annexed by the German Empire after the France Prussian War. The name Alsace changed to Alsace-Lorraine. It remained German until after WWI. This piece is from 1863 but is already in German instead of French. This shows the German influence even before and official changes. Translation: Child! As long as you live, think of the covenant that Jesus has made with you today through this sacrament.
