:: 18th century hand colored etching by famous artist Rowlandson titled Paviors Joy. Rowlandson was one of the great British satirists and this is a fantastic example of his comica l work. Very amusing illustration. Comical text under the illustration reads 'When J_X walks the streets the Paviors cry. God bless you sir & lay their rammers by.' Signed in the plate. Condition: Paper browned and lightly soiled. Two rips, one goes into the engraving from the right about two inches long. Some brown spotting and overall signs of handling.
