Location Leicester Print Workshop Date & Time Saturday 24th August10.00am - 4.00pm Tutor Katy Goodrich This course is ideal for those with some screenprinting experience who wish to improve and extend their practice. You will complete the process from image creation, selecting and exposing screens, setting up your workspace and troubleshooting the print process, including registers and multiple layer printing. By the end of this course you will come away knowing how to problem solve all parts of the screenprinting process. Course Structure Introduction to LPW Image discussion Coating a screen – correct use of emulsion Getting images ready for print – Photoshop, stencil making, creating drawn work Exposing a screen – Use of the exposure unit, timings and substrates. Colour mixing – Transparent and opaque colour Printing – Registration, perfecting your technique, troubleshooting, layering images About the Tutor Leicester based artist Katy Goodrich has been a part of the workshop for the last 10 years. Starting as a volunteer she then undertook a 5 year apprenticeship at LPW learning all aspects of print. Specialising in Screenprint Katy uses Underwater photographs to create her work mainly using the CMYK colour separation technique.
