The Full Story The Heuer Camaro’s undeniable beauty comes from its unusual case shape. It has been an interesting model among vintage Heuer, because it is uniquely associated with an American automobile by Chevrolet; the Camaro had one of shortest production periods from just 1968 to 1972. For this new model, Heuer used a new case style with a slightly angular cushion shape and either a two or three-register dial layout. Heuer also produced very limited quantities of the Camaro in gold, which are rarely seen today. The silver sunburst dial with three registers and outer tachymeter scale is proportionately well balanced. Add the well-respected workhorse movement Valjoux 72, and this piece could fit right in with the collection of any vintage chronograph aficionado. The crown and pushers appear to be original. Overall, the dial is in good condition. There is a noticeable scratch/imperfection in the center of the dial. Within the right register, there is a very minor chip in the paint over the number “30” and just beneath it. There is a very faint, almost invisible smudge on the bottom register. The lume plots have patinated and some of them have worn off in certain areas, namely at three. The handset and indexes show scratches and wear overall, and the lume on the hour hand is missing slightly in the middle. The movement is in running condition with the chronograph starting, stopping, and resetting correctly at this time.
