The Full Story The Admiral is a long-standing family in Longines production, often characterized with 5 aligned stars on the dial. Not so much on the funkier reference 8581-2 here, which was very obviously unveiled in the middle of the 1970s when cushion cases and bolder colors were all the rage. The dial proudly mentions the automatic winding of its caliber 431, which also offers a date complication. And it gets even better when it still comes on its original bracelet, with the Longines logo engraved on the clasp. The original bracelet does not show excessive stretch, and comes with the Longines-signed buckle, as it should. The dial is in great condition as well, with no visible imperfection or fading to the funky blue. The 4 central lume plots have taken a patina that matches the aging of the handset, and the plexiglass has a couple of scratches but nothing that could not be buffed out.
