It bonds permanently to composite, thermoformed, Royalex, and TFormex hulls using Vinyl-Tec 2000 PVC Adhesive, so there's no drilling into your hull and no hardware to work loose on a long river trip. The nickel plated steel ring is straightforward, dependable hardware. Some tarnishing is normal with regular water exposure, but the strength stays consistent for years of serious use.
