Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2000, this commemorative 25-cent coin features a design from the special Millennium Series. In April 1998 the RCM launched a nationwide design competition, inviting Canadians to create twenty-four unique quarters for each month of 1999 and 2000. While the 1999 coins reflected on Canada’s rich history, the 2000 collection turned its gaze toward the future. October: Creativity Designed by Eric (Kong Tat) Hui, this coin captures three millennia of artistic expression. The scenery blends traditional and modern styles, featuring an Inuit-inspired boat (left), a Group of Seven-style tree (upper right), and a digital wireframe landscape (right).
