Bill Samuels, Sr. had a simple goal of producing a whisky that he himself w ould enjoy drinking. Maker's Mark, which is never harsh or bitter, is a unique and flavorful bourbon made with soft red winter wheat instead of the usual rye. To maintain consistency, every barrel is manually rotated, and aging is done based on taste rather than time. Each and every bottle of Maker's is still dipped by hand in the iconic red wax at the distillery in Loretto, Kentucky.
