Produced using lightly peated malt and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, the spirit i s matured for 8 years exclusively in Bourbon casks for this specific 2022 bottling (batch 8). The distillery utilizes water from Crosshill Loch. This expression is bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.8%. Tasting Note: Aroma: Rich notes of dark chocolate and espresso beans open into sweet scents of maple syrup and candied pecans. These are balanced by a distinct maritime saltiness and a subtle, earthy peat smoke characteristic of the distillery. Palate: Bold and full-bodied with flavors of black forest gateau, raisins, and spicy cinnamon. The mid-palate reveals layers of thick molasses, grilled orange peel, and a hint of medicinal smoke. Finish: The texture is oily and leads into a long finish of drying oak tannins, dark fruit leather, and a persistent, savory campfire ash.
