Some people know them as "Guitjos," but Goldtone prefers the term "Banjitar." Whatever you call them, these six-string guitar/banjo hybrids are too much fun. For songwriting and recording, they make the resonator banjo sound accessible without having to learn the technique, but they do so much more than that, too! Even though they're tuned like a regular guitar, the percussive pop of the banjo head and resonator creates something totally new. Just listen to players like Kevin Hayes of Old Crow Medicine Show—the guitjo can produce something new and different, something all its own. The Goldtone Cripple Creek Banjitar features a six-string guitar neck affixed to a 11" Maple banjo pot with a Maple resonator. It features a rolled brass tone ring, which helps the instrument produce authentic-sounding banjo pop. This 2001 Goldtone CC-Banjitar shows some bumps and bruises, but it is in nice conidtion all around. It has an inviting low setup, and it has a passive pickup under the hood. Its tone is fairly bright, and it definitely produces a convincing banjo sound. Some of the lower notes in the guitar register don't sing through as much (it tends to favor the traditional banjo register), but that doesn't take away from the fun whatsoever. It includes a nice padded gig bag from Goldtone.
