Glengoyne, a Highland whisky distillery founded in 1833, is located in the rolling hills of Dumgoyne and it is currently owned by Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd. The distillery sources its water from a natural spring called Kilburn Dam, which gives the whisky its smooth and fruity character. Unlike other Highland distilleries, Glengoyne exclusively uses unpeated malt, creating a lighter and more approachable whisky. Glengoyne also holds the title for the slowest distillation in Scotland, which results in a delicate and complex spirit thanks to its tall, slender stills. The Glengoyne 10 Year Old is made from air-dried barley, never peated, and matured in a combination of sherry casks crafted from European and American oak. Nose: Sweet, with toffee and popcorn aromas. It's slightly nutty, with fresh green apples coming through. Palate: Clean. Green apples and grass, soft oak, and a hint of sweet licorice. Water brings linseed oil and almonds. Finish: Sweet and malty. ---------------------------------- Product Type: Single Malt Whisky ABV: 40% Region: Highlands
