2003 Gibson Explorer Pro Transparent Amber Made from 2002 to 2005 in Gibson's Kalamazoo factory, the Explorer Pro was a short-lived series of slightly shrunken down (approximately 90% scale) Explorers offered by Gibson that featured flamed maple tops, body binding and a no-pickguard design that allow for the beautiful tops to be shown off in all their glory. And oh boy, do they look good! Available in black, transparent amber and wine red, this Explorer Pros are very rare and very hard to come by. Genuine ebony fingerboard with block inlays, chrome plated hardware and a 2 volume 1 tone control layout, from the factory they're loaded with 500T & 490R pickups. The mahogany neck is 24.75" in scale length and is beautifully crafted with its original 22 medium jumbo frets with fret nibs intact. The playability is wonderful and there are no dead spots or choked notes. The truss rod is functional and has an excellent range of movement with the neck straight as an arrow with no warp. Pickups on this one have been swapped to Seymour Duncan's classic "Hot Rodded" matching set of SH-4 JB & SH-2n; they sound absolutely incredible in this guitar and are perfectly voiced to put out huge tone and sound amazing at any volume level. All original aside from the swapped pickups, It's been freshly serviced and setup with 10-46s and a nice low action. In great used condition, it has it's fair share of dings, dents and chips but all is honest wear and adds to the vibe and vintage condition of the guitar. No structural issues whatsoever, no cracks, breaks or repairs. Unfortunately missing the original hardcase but these fit just fine in a regular Explorer case. Comes with a generic gig bag.
