Originally Toyota made this remote with an FCC ID of HYQ1512Y and a part number of 89742-35021. Toyota discontinued that version and superceded with these numbers: 89742-0C010, 89742-35040, 89742-0C030. Toyota seems to have settled on this current part number 89742-35050 and FCC ID HYQ12BBX. Remote is tested on a keyless entry tester for radio signal strength, battery strength, and proper functioning before shipping to you. This is a 315MHz remote which features LOCK, UNLOCK REARGLASS, and PANIC buttons. PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS (03-09 4Runner:) 1. Start with the following conditions: a. Key is out of the ignition b. Driver door is open (all other doors are closed) c. Driver door is unlocked (other doors don?? matter). 2. Perform the next two steps within 5 seconds: a. Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out. b. Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out. 3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Close then open the driver?? door. b. Close then open the driver?? door. c. Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out. 4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Close then open the driver?? door. b. Close then open the driver?? door. c. Insert the key into the ignition. d. Close the driver?? door. e. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine) then back to OFF. f. Remove the key from the ignition. 5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to Step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point. 6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 1 second. b. Immediately after releasing the lock and unlock buttons, press the unlock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps 6a and 6b for this remote as it has not been accepted. 7. Open driver?? door. PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS (02 4Runner:) 1. Start with the following conditions: a. Key is out of the ignition b. Driver door is open (all other doors are closed) c. Driver door is unlocked (other door locks don?? matter). 2. Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out. 3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver?? door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock. A lock/unlock cycle consists of pressing the power lock switch, followed by pressing the power unlock switch on the driver?? door panel. Use an even pace and try to go relatively fast. b. Close, then open the driver?? door. 4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver?? door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock (just as you did previously). b. Insert Key in ignition. c. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine), then back to OFF. d. Remove the key from the ignition. 5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to Step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point. 6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter simultaneously for 1 second and release. b. Immediately after letting go of the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons, press the LOCK button by itself and release. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming. If the door locks don?? cycle, or cycle twice, repeat steps 6a and 6b as the remote has not been accepted. c. A lock/unlock cycle consists of pressing the power lock switch, followed by pressing the power unlock switch on the driver?? door panel. Use an even pace and try to go relatively fast. b. Close then open the driver?? door. 4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Perform 5 lock/unlock cycles again with the switch on the driver?? door starting with lock. b. Insert the key in the ignition cylinder. c. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine) then back to OFF. d. Remove the key from the ignition. 5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to Step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point. 6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds: a. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 1 second and release. b. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, press the UNLOCK button by itself and release. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice (two lock and unlock cycles), this means your remote has not been accepted. Repeat steps 6a and 6b until the door locks cycle only once. c. Repeat steps 6a and 6b for each remote including old ones. 7. Close the driver?? door.
