In the late-'70s, the Tube Screamer changed the overdrive pedal game. While its overall gain may be mild for some, its characteristic mid-boosted sound produces amp-like overdrive that allows the true sound of the guitar and the player's technique to shine through. It is most commonly used to push the front-end of a good tube amp into creamy saturation, but it provides rich, harmonic tone through almost anything. Blues, rock, heavy metal—any time you need more gain and overdrive, the Tube Screamer will cut through the mix exactly as you want it to. Introduced in 1999, the TS7 is the ToneLok Series iteration of the Tube Screamer. Very similar in design to the TS9, the TS7s were made in Taiwan, and they are housed in the heavy-duty ToneLok die cast case. The controls are the same, but the TS7 does have the additional "Hot" mode for extra distortion and volume. Like all of the ToneLok series, the knobs push discreetly into the housing to keep the settings stable. This TS7 was made in 2007, and like the TS9 and TS-808 before it, it features the correct JRC4558D op-amps. Although it may seem like a minor piece of circuitry, that op-amp is preferred for the classic Tube Screamer sound. This 2007 TS7 is gently used and functions 100% as it should. There are some faint sharpie marks from the past owner's favorite settings, and it shows some minor scuffs and scratches (see photos). Great way to add the authentic Tube Screamer sound to your rig without investing big money!
