Compact fluorescent lamps are a good source of supplemental light for growing plants in low-light conditions or for providing extra light to increase the day length or encourage bl ooming. They are also suitable for propagation lights and young small plant nursery situations. 6500k CFL bulbs are designed to provide the light wavelengths that plants need for growth. They produce much less heat than conventional fluorescent lamps. Compared to HID lights or normal sunlight, CFL bulbs produce far less light intensity, so multiple bulbs may be needed to provide enough light to grow a healthy plant. Use a 6500K colour CFL for any Vegetative growing phases and 2700k CFL for any Flowering phases.
