Our Riesling is usually fermented to dry (no discernable residual sugars) and this wine has a floral (citrus flowers) aroma with citrus (lemon/lime) and green apple on the palate when young. Given time, it develops the toasty, honey flavours so typical of older cool-climate rieslings, with the classic cool climate acid backbone. Choose to drink early as a young refreshing wine or cellar to enjoy the fully developed flavours. The 2010 season was notably warmer throughout spring, summer and autumn, but many vineyards were affected by frosts in late October. The amount of fruit was down on the previous year due to a cooler and damp fruit-set period in the first couple of weeks of December. Our Riesling pairs well with Asian dishes, smoked sausage, and of course is perfect with seafood (oysters, prawns, lobster, shellfish).
