The Grand Performance is a relatively new body size, and it is essentially Martin's take on the "small jumbo" concept. Thanks to its tight waist and large lower bout, the Grand Performance produces versatile tones that sound great in every application. The GP combines 000 punch, the projection and articulation of an Orchestra Model, and the power and low-end presence of a Dreadnought. For modern guitarists who want to fingerpick, flat pick, and cover all the territory in between, this design is a natural choice. For a few years, the now-discontinued Performing Artist Series delivered quality US-made Martin guitars, each one loaded with Fishman electronics and a cutaway body. These guitars were designed for modern performing musicians, so the Grand Performance body is a perfect fit. The GPCPA4 Siris features an intriguing three-piece back design of solid Siris wings an East Indian Rosewood center wedge. Unplugged, the GPCPA4 Siris produces lively, brilliant tone with ample sustain and resonance. When you plug it in, the Fishman F1 Analog preamp and under-saddle pickup accurately reproduce the guitar’s natural character. Like other Performing Artist guitars, the GPCPA4 is comfortable and manageable for a variety of playing styles. It has a 1-3/4" nut width and 25.4" scale, and its shallow, rounded neck profile has just a hint of V. And of course, the cutaway provides unfettered access all the way down the fingerboard. This 2012 Martin GPCPA4 Siris doesn't look to have been played very much over the years. It is clean and free of cosmetic bumps and bruises. In fact, the protective film on the pickguard is still in place (see photos). It's a great player with rich Martin tone. It includes its original hardshell case.
