She still regards herself as a novice in wine tasting and is no Halliday – although she does know who that is! That aside, Cristy is quite partial to reds with soft, velvety body, approachable tannin and big fruit flavours. Therefore, a high score from Cristy means the wine is most likely well balanced, easy drinking with a great depth of flavour. TEMPRANILLO 2012 7.5/10 Once again, this old Tempranillo has surprised me! That velvety texture with rich red and black fruits. Dark chocolate and aniseed on the finish. Medium-bodied, such an easy-drinking juicy red! This wine has just become a teenager and like my son Hamish (born in 2012), has so much to give!
