Our Riesling is usually fermented to dry (no discernable residual sugars) and this wine has a floral (citrus flowers) aroma with citrus (lemon/lime) and green apple on the palate when young. Given time, it develops the toasty, honey flavours so typical of older cool-climate rieslings, with the classic cool climate acid backbone. Choose to drink early as a young refreshing wine or cellar to enjoy the fully developed flavours. The 2013 season was extremely warm and dry, developing a greenish yellow colour in the wine and citrus notes on the nose (atypically, no floral notes). Combined with a minerally base and balanced mouthfeel with an acid backbone, it will continue to develop for some time. Our Riesling pairs well with Asian dishes, smoked sausage, and of course is perfect with seafood (oysters, prawns, lobster, shellfish).
