Handmade in New York City, the Sadowsky T-Style brings elegance, fine workmanship, and premium components to the familiar bolt-on neck, single-cutaway design. This 2015 Sadowsky T-Style Custom is an intriguing interpretation of the T-Style template. While the "esquire" concept with one bridge pickup is fairly common, this T-Style Custom sports what we call the "reverse esquire" look—one neck pickup, one middle pickup, and nothing but beautiful quilted maple in the bridge position. It's a fascinating approach to a familiar idea, and it explores the warmer, mellower, more bass-oriented sounds. Like every Sadowsky instrument, it is constructed from the finest parts and materials, and it shows sincere build quality and meticulous craftsmanship. This 2015 Sadowsky T-Style Custom features a lightweight, chambered Mahogany body with a stunning book-matched Quilted Maple top. The chambered construction—paired with fine tonewoods—gives the guitar its own woody resonance and character. Nevertheless, it's the electronics that gives this T-Style a voice and musicality totally its own. For pickups, this T-Style is outfitted with a custom-wound humbucker in the neck position and a Strat pickup in the middle position. The pickups are made by DiMarzio to Sadowsky's precise specifications, and the humbucker captures the classic PAF vibe nicely. The Strat pickup provides some single-coil bite when needed and a percussive rhythm sound when using both pickups at the same time. From there, you've got straightforward volume and tone controls, but Sadowsky has also added their much-accoladed active preamp system. When you switch into active mode, there's a substantial mid boost, and then the middle control offers additional gain boost. This flexible system lends a lot of versatility, which allows this T-Style to cover a wide territory of smooth tone. This 2015 Sadowsky T-Style Custom is very clean cosmetically, but it does show some superficial signs of use and wear (see photos). The frets are pristine, and its setup is low and fast. All around, it shows Sadowsky's meticulous attention to detail. Everything down to the fit and finish was masterfully executed, and there result is a guitar will push you as a player.
