The 2017 Conte Vistarino "Buttafuoco" is a fresh and fragrant wine that highlights the Barbera's freshness and Croatina's bouquet. It boasts a bright and deep red color with complex aromas of blackberry, plum, violet, and a hint of roasting. The taste is both fresh and enveloping, with good persistence. The estate has a rich history dating back to 1850 when Count Augusto Giorgi di Vistarino first planted Pinot Noir in the Oltrepò Pavese region. The family has continued to enhance the noble vine while respecting the territory. The estate spans 826 hectares, with 200 hectares of vineyards, including 100 hectares dedicated to Pinot Noir, benefiting from a dry climate and natural biodiversity. In addition to Pinot Noir, the estate produces a variety of red, white, and rosé wines, as well as sparkling and sweet wines. Villa Fornace, the estate's heart, features a beautifully preserved architectural example with an English garden. The winery, museum, and wine shop showcase the blend of tradition and modernity in the wine history of Rocca de’ Giorgi. The current generation, led by Ottavia Giorgi di Vistarino, continues the vision of interpreting the noble grape variety with the highest quality while honoring the territory.
