If you haven't been paying attention to Eastman lately, you are sincerely missing out. Eastman is delivering high-quality instruments—constructed with fine tone woods—at prices that are a fraction of the competition. Sure, these guitars aren't made in the US, but for comparable specs, the only available options are often high-end boutique brands that come with high-end boutique prices. Eastman brings the same materials and strong build quality at prices working musicians can afford. The Eastman E10P is a great example. It features a parlor-sized 12-fret body with a slotted headstock. That template alone can get pricy, but Eastman doesn't stop there. The E10P has an Adirondack Spruce top and highly-figured Mahogany back and sides. From there, every detail is properly executed, and there's no cutting corners. Hand-carved scalloped X-bracing, Ebony fingerboard, Ebony bridge, bone nut (1-13/16" width), bone saddle, open-back tuners, Jescar frets, etc. A guitar with similar specs can easily push into the $3,000+ range, but because Eastmans are handcrafted in Beijing, the E10P is much more accessible. This 2018 Eastman E10P is gently used and in excellent condition all around. It is very clean cosmetically and free of repairs, dings, scratches, or other issues. The frets are free of severe divots, and the guitar plays nicely with low action and plenty of room for future adjustment. Tonewise, it is a well-balanced guitar with a powerful voice that belies its small size. It is warm and rich, and its well-voiced top can handle a wide variety of playing styles.
