The 2018 Petit Verdot is an unusual but beautifully complex, and fascinating wine. The dense, deeply perfumed and purple wine boasts notes of black plum, boysenberry accented by a warm slate minerality. The aromatics jump out of the glass with touches of dark cherry liquor, chocolate ganache and a sweet woodsy spice with notes of thyme and star anise that showcase Petit Verdot’s complexity.
