The 2020 Malbec Reserva produced in San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina, benefits from a warm and dry season that led to an earlier harvest and faster grape maturation. This resulted in more intense wines with a higher concentration of sugar and stronger, more pronounced flavors. This Malbec displays a striking violet-red color with deep black hues. The nose reveals rich aromas of plum and dark fruits, intermingled with subtle notes of vanilla from its oak aging. On the palate, it showcases a harmonious balance of acidity, sweetness, and tannins, offering a persistent finish with a refined bouquet and well-integrated oak. The vineyard, planted in 2015 on Plot No. 5 of Familia Morgan’s estate in Las Paredes, is situated at 750 meters above sea level. It is irrigated by the Rio Diamante’s meltwater, contributing to the soil's complexity and the wine's unique character. The vinification process includes cold maceration and spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, followed by temperature control between 24°C and 28°C. After 28 days of maceration, the wine is aged for 12 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels, with 15% in new barrels. This Malbec pairs wonderfully with grilled meats like lamb or beef ribs and complements creamy risottos and savory dishes. Its balanced acidity and integrated oak make it a perfect choice to enjoy with dark chocolate for a harmonious finish.
