24 years ago is where it all began when I was forced into an early retirement from hairdressing due to an eye illness. I have always enjoyed making wine, I grew up where “making the wine” was an Italian tradition, along with the tomato sauce and pork sausages. My love for wine was taken a step further, where I planted a small vineyard on my property in Yattalunga, located in One Tree Hill, where the site was perfect for growing Shiraz. The fruit is hand-picked and traditionally made, with the use of a basket press, open top fermenters, and fine grain French oak barrels for maturation. The style is full-bodied, with layers of dark fruits and spice. I love drinking my 2021 Yattalunga Shiraz with rich meat dishes. Cheers, Larry Costa
