Our Solstice Experience is similar to what many know as an advent calendar. Towards the beginning of December, you will receive a collection of gifts, marked and designed to be opened each day starting on December 15, 2026 through the Solstice (December 21st, 2026). As December can be quite hectic, this experience is designed and intended to cultivate a bit of space each day to knit and to be calm and present with what is a beautiful time of year, to embrace the darkness and rejuvenate, as we pass through the Solstice and head once again towards the light, and to give you a little gift each day to inspire your creativity and to offer care. We are so excited! This year's featured design is Amy Christoffers aka Savory Knitting. (Amy designed the ever-popular Pressed Flowers Shawl, a piece we have knit numerous times at Verb and simply adore. You can see her work on her website and on Ravelry.) She is designing a warm and cozy two-color scarf that can be knit using Bread & Butter Pretzel or Verb Horizon. Make a smaller version with two skeins, or a larger version with four skeins. We invite members to join us for our daily 10 minute silent, virtual meditation. (Time to be determined.) Each year, this is a really wonderful part of the experience. Between now and late November when we ship your kit to you, we will be busy designing, gathering, and creating your gifts. This is our fifth year creating a kit like this and we love curating a collection of gifts for you! We have many fun surprises up our sleeve! - Kristine, (Adrienne, and Team Verb) ~~~ You will receive the following:+ Yarn (select base and palette)+ A scarf pattern designed by Amy Christoffers using the yarn included in the package. + A collection of gifts to be opened each day leading up to the Solstice and on the Solstice.+ A link to our Winter Solstice Experience Meditation. ~~~OPTIONSYARNChoose between Bread & Butter Pretzel and Verb's naturally-dyed Horizon yarn. Bread & Butter Pretzel DK-weight yarn (130 yd / 50g) is soft, gorgeous, and a wonderful choice for garments and accessories. Its round, 3-ply construction makes it a wonderful choice for all stitch patterns: everything from stockinette to cables. Pretzel is made of U.S. merino and comes in a lovely palette of heathered colors. Each colorway has been blended by hand and milled in the Carolinas. A Verb for Keeping Warm Horizon is a plush, soft DK-weight yarn (160 yd / 50g) made from organic Rambouillet wool, grown by sheep who are lovingly stewarded by folks in New Mexico. And spun by more lovely people, cooperatively, in Vermont. Horizon is naturally-dyed in our Oakland studio using leaves, bark, roots, and cochineal.COLOR PALETTEWe keep the color as a surprise (if you would like to know more, please email us.) But we do want to give you a few hints, and to set the stage as to what you can expect. COLOR OPTION 1: Cozy Hearth - imagine sitting around the fire, a cup of tea in your hands, and making. A blanket is over your lap and your favorite pet is by your side. COLOR OPTION 2: Winter Walk - you are in the great outdoors, seeing the beauty of Winter Solstice nature, such as fir trees, a wisp of fog sits along the horizon, and the open sky expands above you. Dawn and dusk are never that far apart. ~~~Amy will be working with Verb's Winter Hike option and Bread & Butter's Cozy Hearth option. ~~~ SHIP DATE: 11/24 - 11/28/2026All items on your order for the Solstice Experience will ship together. If you are including non-Solstice items in your order and would like them sooner, please create two orders.
