Today this amazing Napa Valley journey in a box can be yours for just $249/case! Each sampler contains TWO BOTTLES of each of the following Cabernet's: Lot 7 2023 Coombsville District Cabernet Sauvignon: - this beautiful Coombsville Cabernet is one of the more approachable of the 2023's. All estate grown and produced, it retails under its original label for $125-$150/bottle. 92-points James Suckling.com Lot 10 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - a blend of Coombsville and the better blocks of the legendary vineyard that stretches from Atlas Peak to Pritchard hill, this is $200+/bottle mountain muscle Cabernet Sauvignon. 93-POINTS James Suckling: Lifted dark fruit, spices, earth and olive tapenade with a lovely savory edge. The palate is full-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a plush, rounded mouthfeel that finishes with a dense core of fruit and a serious structure. Excellent value. Drink or hold. Lot 15 2023 Oakville District Cabernet Sauvignon - another one of the more approachable 2023's, this organically grwon Cabernet comes from the highly-regarded Rock Cairn Vineyard and sell for well-over $100/bottle. 93-POINTS James Suckling: Aromas of red and black fruit with hints of potpourri, spices and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with a textural mouthfeel and fine-boned tannins. It’s plush, complex and juicy, with real polish and focus. Delicious. A good value, particularly for the AVA. Drink or hold. Lot 17 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - Atlas Bench and Atlas Peak Cabernet blend here to produce a beautifully powerful and pure Cabernet Sauvignon. 93-POINTS James Suckling: Aromas of black currants, plums, cassis, dried herbs and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with a smooth, polished mouthfeel, firm yet refined tannins and balanced acidity. Great value. Drink or hold. 92-POINTS Jeb Dunnuck: Cassis, spice oak, violets, and graphite all define the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 17 Napa Valley, a classy, inward, reserved Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that builds nicely with time in the glass. Based on 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Verdot, and 5% Malbec and aged in 85% new French oak, it's medium-bodied, balanced, and elegant on the palate, with ripe tannins and an outstanding finish. It's holding things a little close to its vest today, yet I love its overall balance and purity. Give it a year or two and drink over the following decade. Drink 2027-2036. Lot 25 2023 Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon - this is the second bottling we did of this wine and I we blended in some componentry that I think improves on the first bottling (which was rated 93-points). Big, rich, ripe and bold, this is knock your socks off Cabernet Sauvignon that sells for $130/bottle under it's original label! I won't post the reviews here because they are from the first bottling but, like I said, I am confident our second bottling is an improvement. Lot 32 2023 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon - $150+/bottling here with some fantastic scores and reviews. Iron-fist in a velvet glove with tremendous power and finesse. 93-POINTS James Suckling: Aromas of black currants, dark plums, cassis, graphite, dried herbs and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with a smooth, textural mouthfeel, firm yet refined tannins and balanced acidity, showing dark berries, cocoa and a savory finish. Good value. Drink or hold. 92-POINTS Jeb Dunnuck: A serious, focused Cabernet Sauvignon coming almost exclusively from the Stags Leap District (there's a splash of Oakville fruit), the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 32 Stags Leap District is based on 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petite Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc and aged in 80% new French oak. Juicy blue fruits, smoky tobacco, chocolate, and chalky minerality, as well as some beautiful Stags Leap floral character all emerge from the glass. It's medium-bodied, focused, and beautifully balanced on the palate, with ripe yet present tannins and a great finish. I'd happily drink a bottle any time over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2036.
