The 2024 Bindi Quartz Chardonnay is an exceptional expression of the Macedon Ranges’ cool-climate precision. Sourced from the Quartz Block — Bindi’s most celebrated Chardonnay site — this wine embodies purity, tension, and mineral drive. The 2024 vintage continues the lineage of finely structured, age-worthy wines that define Bindi’s signature style. Vineyard and Winemaking The Quartz Block, planted on ancient volcanic and quartz-rich soils, sits at 500 metres elevation. The fruit was hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed, and fermented using indigenous yeasts in French oak barriques (around 20% new). The wine rested on lees for ten months, building texture and complexity without losing its crystalline focus. Minimal intervention and gentle handling preserved the vineyard’s natural energy and minerality. Tasting Notes Aromas of white peach, grapefruit, and flint intertwine with subtle notes of cashew and nougat. The palate is precise and layered, offering citrus and stone fruit intensity supported by fine acidity and chalky texture. The finish is long, pure, and saline, leaving a lingering impression of balance and refinement. Style and Character Power and restraint are seamlessly combined in this vintage. The Quartz Chardonnay reflects the energy of its site and the meticulous craftsmanship of Michael Dhillon — a wine of purity, depth, and longevity, built to evolve beautifully in bottle. Cellaring and Pairing Superb now for its youthful vibrancy, yet capable of maturing gracefully for 10–15 years. Ideal with butter-poached lobster, roast chicken, or creamy mushroom pasta, complementing its tension and texture.
