Positionality in the hypothetical future scenario: The year is 2045. Twenty-three years ago, on 09th June 2022, the government formed the Department of Fashion and Textile Justice, giving political power to independent creatives. Soon after, it was announced that from 01st January 2025, the act of mass-producing clothing and accessories would become banned due to the increasingly harmful impact of the textiles industry on the environment. Now, in 2045 we live in a world that relies on second-hand and hand-made clothing and accessories. High-street and high-end shops have become obsolete. As a result, society depends on the processes of rehoming, reusing, and upcycling.
