DESCRIPTION This overcoat is of Swedish origin and comes from the brand Junexior, produced by Junex – a major ready-to-wear manufacturer based in Huskvarna, southern Sweden. However, the coat was originally sold at a shop named Franks, located in Lund, just outside Malmö. It is tailored from a very period-typical thick black wool fabric. The coat is double-breasted, fastening with three rows of buttons. It features horizontal flap pockets and a buttonhole on each lapel – which are sharply pointed in true mid-century style. The back is straight with a high rear vent. The interior is fully lined and includes two inner pockets, one on each side. The sleeve lining has been replaced at some point. Thanks to its deep black colour, the coat gives a slightly better overall impression than its actual condition. On closer inspection, a number of minor flaws become visible. There is some wear to the buttonholes, and various signs of wear in the lining – for example at the hem and inside one of the flaps. There is also minor wear to the outer fabric itself, although the texture of the wool makes this difficult to notice unless viewed up close. Overall, the coat presents well. Please refer to the photos to form your own impression of the condition. SIZE What sets this coat apart from most other similar pieces we have in stock is the size. In terms of chest measurement, it corresponds to a modern EU 46 (UK/US 36). However, it is far too long for someone of the height usually associated with a standard EU 46 (Regular UK/US 36). We believe the coat would best suit someone at least 190 cm tall (6'3"). The sleeve length of 69 cm gives a good indication of the height needed to wear this coat properly.
