Jincup Ceramics are produced with the help of Hasami craftsmen, made by adjusting magnetic clay to a thick, muddy clat and pouring it into a mold to create the shape. Each piece is molded as an individual with natural characteristics derived from the original Jincup. The base is "Isubaiyu," a glaze made by mixing wood ash. Wood is burned, reduced to ash, applied to clay, and then passed through the fire again. The materials revolve, and are reborn into new forms.
