This glass “chirori” is very useful in Japanese table settings. Originally a tool for heating sake, the chirori was made of metal, but now made of glass, it has an elegant appearan ce that adds color to the table. When serving cold sake, ice can be placed in the attached cores to cool the sake without diluting the outer surface. The chirori is made of heat-resistant glass so that warm sake can be placed directly into the chirori after it has been heated.
